The new Bollywood film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has completed its first weekend at the box office, earning a total of ₹30 crore in four days. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the romantic comedy-drama is described as a spiritual successor to the popular Dulhania films.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Earns ₹30 Crore
The film opened in Indian theaters on October 2, 2025, and earned ₹9.25 crore on its opening day. On the second day, collections dipped to ₹5.5 crore, but it bounced back on day three with earnings of ₹7.5 crore, showing a 36% increase. On day four, the film collected ₹7.75 crore, maintaining a steady presence despite competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, which has been performing strongly at the box office.
Though the film has not achieved extraordinary growth, it has managed to surpass the lifetime collections of some previous releases, including Mere Husband Ki Biwi and Loveyapa, which earned ₹12.85 crore and ₹8.85 crore respectively. This shows that while it may not be a blockbuster, it has still found moderate commercial success.

The story follows Varun and Janhvi as their characters try to make their exes jealous, with Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf playing the former partners. Critics have noted that while the film has humorous moments and strong performances, its pacing and overall impact could have been better. Varun Dhawan, in particular, has been praised for his effortless portrayal of a goofy character, while Janhvi Kapoor also delivers a lively performance.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment, the film also features supporting roles by Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav Sharma. Though it faces tough competition from Kantara Chapter 1, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has found its audience, thanks to its lighthearted storytelling and the charm of its lead actors.
