The announcement came during the trailer launch of Maddock Films’ upcoming movie ‘Thamma’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, in Mumbai. Producer Dinesh Vijan and Khurrana were also present at the event.

The horror-comedy universe began with the 2018 blockbuster ‘Stree’, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The film became a massive success and led to the creation of other films in the universe, including ‘Roohi’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Munjya’. With the announcement of ‘Choti Stree’, fans can look forward to exploring the backstory of the iconic Stree character in a fun and creative way.

Producer Dinesh Vijan shared interesting details about the film. He revealed that the animated movie is designed in such a way that it will connect directly to ‘Stree 3’, which is set to release six months later. The ending of ‘Choti Stree’ will transition from animation to live action, answering questions about the Stree character’s backstory. This innovative approach will make the experience unique for the audience.

In 2024, ‘Stree 2’ became the biggest Hindi film of the year, earning over Rs 500 crore worldwide. Meanwhile, Maddock Films is preparing for its next theatrical release, ‘Thamma’, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, which is scheduled to hit screens on October 21, 2025.
