In her post, Kranti praised Sameer for his consistent work in educating youth about the dangers of drugs. She shared a video of him giving a speech and wrote about how he chooses to spend his weekends conducting lectures and programs instead of relaxing or going on vacations. She called his contribution to society “profound” and expressed pride in his efforts to shape young minds. She also used the hashtag #nashamuktbharatcampaign, highlighting the ongoing mission to combat drug abuse in India.

The controversy over The Ba**ds of Bollywood began when Sameer Wankhede filed a case in the Delhi High Court. He objected to his alleged portrayal in the series, claiming that a character in the first episode was “heavily inspired” by his time as an NCB officer. According to Wankhede, the series targeted Bollywood celebrities for drug use, presenting him and the anti-drug body in a negative light. He has demanded damages of ₹2 crore for what he calls a “malicious and misleading” representation.
This legal issue connects back to the 2021 Cordelia cruise ship case, when Wankhede arrested Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s son, on alleged drug charges. Aryan spent 25 days in jail before being granted bail, and later, his name was excluded from the official charges due to lack of evidence. The case was widely covered in the media and sparked debates about procedure, fairness, and possible political influences. Later, in 2023, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR against Wankhede and others, alleging that they sought a bribe to avoid implicating Aryan.
