Zubeen had gone to Singapore to participate in the North East India Festival. His body was flown back to Guwahati after reaching Delhi on September 20, 2025, where fans and family mourned his sudden loss.

For more than two decades, Garima supported Zubeen through his career highs and personal struggles.
Reports indicate that Zubeen Garg died due to drowning while swimming without a life jacket in Singapore. The High Commission confirmed drowning as the cause of death in the official certificate.
