Bollywood actor Salman Khan is known for his daring stunts and larger-than-life on-screen persona. However, Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap recently revealed some interesting behind-the-scenes facts about the making of the film. According to Kashyap, Salman was not always confident performing certain stunts and required visual effects to maintain his heroic image.
Salman Khan Dabangg Eyebags VFX Revealed
Abhinav recalled that during a muddy chase sequence in Dabangg, Salman refused to run because a large crowd had gathered on the set. He was afraid of slipping and falling in front of the audience. To make the scenes look perfect, body doubles were often used, and Salman’s face was digitally superimposed later.
The director also disclosed that around Rs 8 lakh was spent on VFX to hide Salman Khan’s eyebags. He explained that Salman was concerned about how the audience might react if they noticed his tired eyes. Abhinav further mentioned that although Salman was relatively fit during Dabangg, he still preferred to play it safe, relying on stunts being done partially by doubles.

This revelation also points to another interesting aspect of Bollywood filmmaking: how visual effects are used to enhance an actor’s appearance. For example, in the 2012 movie Ek Tha Tiger, Salman’s abs were digitally painted, which was later accidentally revealed in a VFX breakdown reel. The video was eventually removed, but it highlighted how filmmakers use technology to create a polished look for stars.
Abhinav Kashyap also shared that delays in Salman’s payments caused financial stress during the film’s production. Despite these challenges, Dabangg became one of the most successful films of its time, cementing Salman Khan’s image as an action hero.
