The much-awaited courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has finally received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film will now release in theatres on September 19, 2025, after the board asked for several changes to be made.
Jolly LLB 3 Cleared by CBFC With Edits
According to reports, the CBFC directed the filmmakers to remove offensive words and blur alcohol brand logos seen in the film. One of the main edits was removing the use of the word “f**ker” in all instances. Along with this, scenes showing alcohol brands and certain background logos were blurred.
Another change was made to a police scene where officers were shown assaulting an elderly man. This part had to be toned down to make it less harsh. Some dialogues were also altered. For example, one line was changed to include the phrase “Emergency Clause”, while another was rewritten as “Janki amma ka gaon sirf ek… cheque muh pe fek ke mara”.

Jolly LLB 3 is the third installment in the hit franchise directed by Subhash Kapoor. The first film starred Arshad Warsi, while the second featured Akshay Kumar in the lead. For the first time, both actors will come together in this film. The movie also features Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Seema Biswas, Gajraj Rao, and the popular judge character played by Saurabh Shukla.
Even before its release, the film is creating buzz at the box office. On the first day of advance booking, the film earned around ₹71.82 lakh without block seats and over ₹2.1 crore with block seats. Maharashtra and Delhi are leading in bookings, while states like Tripura and Himachal Pradesh recorded very low numbers.
With its mix of humor, drama, and social commentary, Jolly LLB 3 promises to entertain audiences just like the earlier films in the series. The decision of the CBFC ensures the film can reach a wider audience while staying within guidelines. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi share the screen in this legal drama.
