Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is one of the most loved international stars in India. He became a household name in 2014 with the drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai, where his pairing with Sanam Saeed won hearts across borders. Soon after, he made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat alongside Sonam Kapoor. However, after 2016, political tensions led to a ban on Pakistani artists in Indian cinema. Because of this, Fawad Khan’s appearances in Bollywood stopped, leaving his Indian fans disappointed. His last Hindi film was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, directed by Karan Johar.

Recently, the actor recalled a moment when he apologised to his Indian admirers for waiting so long to see him on screen. He said he was grateful for their patience but explained that many things were beyond his control. According to him, “everything has its own time,” and he believed that good work reaches people when the right moment arrives. He also mentioned an old saying: “out of sight, out of mind,” but added that his fans’ support kept him going.

In the past year, Fawad Khan appeared in the supernatural web series Barzakh, which streamed in India on ZEE5. His latest film Aabeer Gulaal, starring opposite Vaani Kapoor, faced hurdles in India due to the continued restrictions but was released internationally. Reports suggest the movie may also reach Indian theatres later this month.
Apart from films, Fawad has always shown interest in cross-cultural collaborations. He believes that art connects people and helps them learn from different cultures. He even recalled his warm interactions with actor-director Farhan Akhtar while working on Marvel’s Ms Marvel series.
Despite challenges, the star remains hopeful. He has hinted that more of his projects will be released soon, assuring fans that they can expect exciting content in the coming year.
