Her latest film, Netflix’s The Wrong Paris, gives her the chance to lead a romantic comedy for the first time. In the movie, she plays Dawn, a young woman who signs up for a dating show thinking it takes place in Paris, France. She soon discovers the show is actually set in Paris, Texas, leading to funny and romantic moments.

Cosgrove shared that acting in a rom-com was exciting because the genre has always been comforting to her. She mentioned that she enjoys lighthearted stories and has always loved watching rom-coms like Notting Hill during tough times. Filming the movie was also a unique experience because it included shooting a “reality show within a movie,” which allowed for fun, unscripted moments that added to the final scenes.

One of her favorite parts of filming was the mud pit challenge. Despite heavy rain and being sick, Cosgrove enjoyed the experience, along with riding a mechanical bull for the first time. She explained that her character, Dawn, is independent and focused on her personal goals, which makes the love story even more interesting. Cosgrove appreciated that the film allowed her to explore a flawed, ambitious character while still keeping the story fun and romantic.
Miranda Cosgrove also enjoyed working closely with her co-stars Pierson Fode, Madison Pettis, and Yvonne Orji. She explained that staying in the same apartment building in Vancouver helped them bond and form friendships while exploring the city together.

Returning to her roots, Cosgrove discussed the iCarly revival. She found it strange but exciting to revisit her old sets and play her character as an adult. She also hinted that an iCarly movie is in the works, with filming expected next year.
Looking back on her career, Cosgrove feels grateful for her early experiences, particularly working on School of Rock. She credits these experiences for shaping her love for acting and comedy. She also revealed her passion for helping animals, fostering several cats and dogs, which brings her joy outside of work.
