Bollywood fans have been waiting for years to hear about the next part of the Krrish series. Finally, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has shared an important update. He revealed that the budget problems that delayed the film have now been solved, and the movie is ready to move forward.
Hrithik Roshan to Direct Krrish 4, Release Confirmed
Rakesh Roshan confirmed in an interview that the team is preparing for a 2027 release. He explained that although the script was ready, the big challenge was fixing the budget because the film requires large-scale production and heavy VFX. “Now that we have a clear idea of the cost, we are ready to begin. The shooting will start by the middle of next year after completing pre-production,” he said.

The biggest surprise for fans is that Hrithik Roshan himself will direct Krrish 4. Back in March, Rakesh Roshan had announced this news on Instagram. He wrote that 25 years after launching Hrithik as an actor, he is now introducing him as a director. Aditya Chopra is also supporting this ambitious project. Hrithik admitted that he feels nervous about this new role, saying it feels like starting all over again.
The Krrish franchise is considered India’s most popular superhero story. It started in 2003 with Koi… Mil Gaya, where audiences met Rohit Mehra and the lovable alien Jadoo. This was followed by Krrish (2006), which introduced Krishna Mehra as the first mainstream Indian superhero. In 2013, Krrish 3 became a blockbuster, earning over ₹374 crore worldwide.
