The Delhi High Court is currently hearing a major inheritance dispute involving the late businessman Sunjay Kapur. After his sudden death earlier this year at the age of 53 in the United Kingdom, his two children from his former marriage to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor approached the court, claiming their rightful share in his estate.
Karisma Kapoor’s Kids Challenge Sunjay Kapur’s Will
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married from 2003 to 2016. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. Represented by their mother, the children alleged that they were unfairly left out of their father’s will. They also argued that their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, Sunjay’s third wife, forged the will to gain full control of his property.

According to the petition, a will dated March 21, 2025, leaves Sunjay Kapur’s entire personal estate to Priya Sachdev Kapur. The children’s side has questioned the authenticity of this document and claimed that it was deliberately hidden for several weeks before being introduced at a family meeting on July 30, 2025.
During the latest hearing, Priya Sachdev Kapur’s lawyer, Rajiv Nayar, strongly defended her case and pointed out that Karisma Kapoor had been “nowhere to be seen for the last 15 years” after separating from Sunjay. He urged the court to consider Priya’s situation and her son’s future.

The court has directed Priya Sachdev Kapur to file a detailed list of her movable and immovable assets. Written statements must be submitted within two weeks, followed by rejoinders within another week. Summons have also been issued to all parties named in the case, including Priya, her minor son, her mother Rani Kapur, and the supposed executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah.
This case, involving property reportedly worth around ₹30,000 crore, has attracted wide attention due to the involvement of high-profile personalities and the serious allegation of forgery.
As the legal process continues, the court will have to decide whether the will is valid or not and how Sunjay Kapur’s estate should be divided among his heirs. Until then, the dispute remains one of the most closely watched family battles in recent years.
