She humorously captioned it in Malayalam, saying, “The drama just before paying the fine!!!” The actress explained that her father had bought the jasmine flowers for her before she left Kochi. Australia has very strict rules regarding plant materials. According to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, travelers can bring fresh flowers or plants only if they declare them upon arrival. Biosecurity officers then inspect the materials to ensure they are free from pests and diseases. Failure to declare plant material can result in fines up to AUD 6,600, possible criminal prosecution, or even visa cancellation. These rules aim to protect Australia’s agriculture from potential threats.
