The movie tells the story of Hiranyakashyap, Prahlad, and Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar. Even though it faced strong competition from big-budget films like War 2, Coolie, and Saiyaara, it has managed to hold its ground. The film’s success shows that audiences still enjoy mythological storytelling, even in animated form.

Trade analysts have been surprised by how a mythological animated film from a relatively new director has outperformed big star-driven films. They believe its success lies in strong storytelling, family appeal, and positive audience reviews.

For director Ashwin Kumar, this achievement is career-defining. It has opened doors for more animated mythological films in Bollywood. For the industry, it is also proof that Indian audiences are ready to accept different kinds of cinema beyond star power and action spectacles.

With this success, Mahavatar Narasimha has carved its place in Bollywood’s history books, showing that faith, mythology, and creativity can still create box office magic.
