To clarify the rumours, actor Sanjeev Venkat, a close friend of Vijay, spoke about the couple on the TV show Samayal Express Season 2. He described a picture of domestic harmony, saying he often dines at their home and praised Sangeetha as an “excellent cook.” His comments suggested that the couple remains together and that the divorce rumours are false. Vijay and Sangeetha have been married since 1999 and are parents to two children.

During the Madurai event, Vijay focused on politics and delivered a strong speech. He criticized the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He also criticized efforts to hide the Keezhadi archaeological findings and reiterated his demand to ban the NEET examination in the state.
