The Nandamuri family is facing a deep loss as Padmaja, the wife of Jayakrishna and aunt of popular actor Jr NTR, passed away in Hyderabad on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. She had been unwell for some time and was admitted to the hospital after suffering breathing difficulties. Sadly, she breathed her last while undergoing treatment.

Padmaja was also the sister of Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, which made her a respected member of two well-known families in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Her passing has left relatives, political leaders, and fans in shock and sorrow.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is related to the family, expressed his grief through a heartfelt message. He said he was deeply shocked by her death and prayed for her soul to rest in peace. He also described the loss as a painful moment for the family.
Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resources Development and son of Chandrababu Naidu, also expressed his sadness. He called Padmaja a pillar of support for the family and said her sudden demise is an irreparable loss. Many other leaders, celebrities, and Nandamuri fans joined in offering condolences.

Padmaja’s husband, Nandamuri Jayakrishna, is one of the sons of the legendary Telugu actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). Their son, Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna, has also followed the film path. He made his acting debut with the movie Dham and later appeared in the film Breathe.
The Nandamuri family has always been an important part of Andhra Pradesh’s political and cinema history, and Padmaja played a strong supportive role in it.
