On KBC 17 Special, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi Explains To Amitabh Bachchan Why Operation Sindoor Needed

The quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, is now in its 17th season. For Independence Day, the show will feature a special episode with three officers from the Indian Armed Forces who were part of media briefings for Operation Sindoor.

In a promo shared by Sony TV, Amitabh Bachchan welcomes Colonel Sofiya Qureshi from the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh from the Indian Air Force, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee from the Indian Navy. The episode will be aired on August 15 at 9 pm and will also be available on Sony LIV.

During the show, the officers talk about Operation Sindoor, which took place on May 7. It was a series of targeted strikes by the Indian armed forces on nine Pakistani terror camps. This was in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi explained why the operation was necessary. She said, “Pakistan has been doing this for years. It was important to give a strong answer, so Operation Sindoor was planned.”

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh described the speed of the mission: “From 1:05 am to 1:30 am, in just 25 minutes, we ended their game.”

Commander Prerna Deosthalee added that the operation was successful and that no civilians were harmed. “Targets were destroyed, and no harm came to any civilians,” she said.

Colonel Sofiya also spoke about India’s new approach. “This is a new India, with a new mindset,” she told Amitabh Bachchan.
