Upasana Kamineni Konidela, wife of popular Telugu actor Ram Charan and daughter-in-law of megastar Chiranjeevi, is a successful business leader in her own right. She is the Vice Chairperson for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Apollo Hospitals, a healthcare chain founded by her grandfather, Dr Prathap C Reddy.

Recently, during a vlog on Curly Tales, it was revealed that Upasana is the heir to a business empire worth Rs 77,000 crore. Born into the wealthy Kamineni family, she joined the family business after completing her studies. Her mother, Shobana Kamineni, also played a big role in expanding their business. Following her mother’s path, Upasana worked hard and made a name for herself. She is also the Managing Director of Family Health Plan Insurance TPA (FHPL).

In addition to her corporate roles, Upasana Konidela, founded a wellness platform called UR.Life. Her efforts in healthcare and charity have been recognised with awards such as the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Philanthropist of the Year, and she has been featured in Forbes’ list of Tycoons of Tomorrow.
However, Upasana Konidela, has openly said that her family background does not mean she has unlimited wealth. In a past interview, she explained, “People think I come from a rich family, but I don’t have the kind of access to wealth that would allow me to do everything I want. I had to learn how to grow my own business and create wealth that matched my vision.”

She also shared her experiences of facing patriarchy at home and in business. According to her, the women in her family were strong and demanded their fair share, leading to equal treatment of men and women. Upasana believes in being well-prepared for meetings so that no one can take advantage of her weaknesses.
