Bollywood actor and producer John Abraham is known not only for his movies but also for keeping his personal life away from the public eye. John married banker Priya Runchal in 2014. While they sometimes post about each other on Instagram and appear at rare events, they prefer to keep their relationship private.
John Abraham Explains Keeping Marriage Life Private
In an interview with India Today, John Abraham said this was a conscious decision. He believes his films have nothing to do with his personal life, and avoiding unnecessary attention has helped them live a “scandal-free” life.
John Abraham revealed that in his 22 years in the film industry, he has never hired a publicist or an agent to promote his personal image. “Once my films are done, I disappear from the spotlight. I only speak when I have something important to share,” he explained.

The actor also said that avoiding media attention was not difficult for him. Even before his marriage, he stayed away from Bollywood parties. “The music is too loud, and I don’t drink alcohol,” he said. He shared that his dislike for alcohol comes from seeing his father enjoy his single malt, which made him avoid it altogether.
John Abraham also keeps a disciplined routine. He sleeps early, wakes up between 4 and 4:30 am, reads a lot, and keeps up with world news. This early-morning habit, he says, gives him peace and clarity.

He praised Priya for bringing maturity to their relationship. She has chosen not to chase the limelight, which aligns perfectly with John’s personality. “She’s happy staying away from the spotlight, and so am I. It works for both of us,” he said.
John will next be seen in his upcoming ZEE5 film Tehran, which releases on August 15, 2025. Until then, he continues to live life on his own terms quietly, privately, and without drama.
