Actor Dhanush has finally broken his silence on the new AI-altered version of the film Raanjhanaa, which was recently re-released with a different ending. The original film, released in 2013, had a tragic and emotional climax where Dhanush’s character, Kundan, dies. That ending touched many hearts and made the movie a classic for fans.

Dhanush has shared an official statement, saying he was disturbed by the new version. He said, “This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago.” He explained that the use of AI to change the story goes against the heart of cinema and art. He also mentioned that he had clearly objected to the idea before, but the team went ahead anyway.
Dhanush warned that using AI like this sets a bad example for the future. He believes it can harm the creativity and honesty of storytelling. He asked for stronger rules to stop such changes in films.

The film’s director, Aanand L. Rai, also expressed his disappointment with the altered ending. Some fans supported Dhanush, saying the original ending was the most powerful part of the film. One fan commented, “Raanjhanaa is a great movie because of its climax. You change the ending, you ruin the movie.”
On the other hand, a few people didn’t see a big problem. Some said that they were happy to see Kundan live and felt peace from the new ending. Others even accused Dhanush of being upset only because he wasn’t informed or paid.
