The trailer of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third part in James Cameron’s popular Avatar movie series, is finally here. The film is a direct sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and will release in theatres on December 19, 2025. The movie stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri.
Jake and Neytiri Face New Threat in Avatar 3
In this new chapter, a brand-new Na’vi tribe called the Ash People is introduced. They are a fierce group covered in black soot and are seen dancing around fire in the trailer. Their leader, Varang, has the power to control fire. She has joined forces with Quaritch, a major villain from the previous films. Varang’s fire power causes destruction in Pandora’s green forests, and she boldly says, “Your goddess holds no power here.”

The trailer shows that Jake and Neytiri, along with the Metkayina clan (introduced in The Way of Water), are now preparing to fight against Varang and her army. This time, the enemy is even stronger and more dangerous.
Fire and Ash was filmed along with The Way of Water, which told the story of Jake’s family protecting the sea-loving Metkayina and their whale-like friends, the Tulkuns, from human invaders. Although they won, their eldest son died, and the threat from humans (the RDA) still continues.

Oona Chaplin (from Game of Thrones) plays the villain Varang. Other new cast members include Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis. Many actors from the previous films will return, including Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, and Cliff Curtis.
Avatar (2009) and The Way of Water are among the top five highest-grossing movies in history. Now, with fire as the new weapon and a bold new villain, Fire and Ash promises even more drama, action, and emotional moments on the magical planet of Pandora. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how Jake and Neytiri will face their biggest challenge yet.
