Famous actor and television producer Dheeraj Kumar passed away on July 15, 2025, in Mumbai. He was 80 years old and had been suffering from pneumonia. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after having severe breathing problems. He was placed on a ventilator in the ICU, but sadly, he did not survive and died of cardiac arrest.

Dheeraj Kumar had a long and successful career in Indian cinema and television. Born on October 1, 1944, he began his career in 1965. In his early years, he was a finalist in a talent contest along with famous names like Subhash Ghai and Rajesh Khanna. Between 1970 and 1984, he acted in 21 Punjabi films. He later shifted to television and started his own production company called Creative Eye, where he served as the chairman and managing director.
He acted in well-known movies like Swami, Heera Panna, and Raaton Ka Raja. His production house became famous for creating spiritual and family-oriented television shows. Some of his popular TV serials include Om Namah Shivay, Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyan, Mili, and Adalat. In total, he produced more than 35 television shows during his career.
Dheeraj Kumar also shared kind words about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the ISKCON temple in Navi Mumbai. He praised Modi’s speech and expressed his spiritual feelings about visiting the temple.
