Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has spoken out in support of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently facing online criticism for a past interview where he admitted to eating beef. This controversy resurfaced after the first look of the upcoming film Ramayana, where Ranbir plays the role of Lord Ram, went viral.

Chinmayi responded strongly to the trolling. Without naming anyone, she pointed out the hypocrisy of some people who ignore serious crimes but focus on what a person eats. She said, “A rapist babaji can get parole and even campaign for votes, but someone’s food habits are a big issue?”
When a social media user questioned her statement, asking how one bad thing can justify another, Chinmayi replied, “So someone acting in a role is just as bad as a rapist? You deserve Ram Rahim as your MP.”

Her comments sparked a debate online. While some praised her courage and honesty, others remained divided on the matter. Some people believe that actors portraying religious figures should live by certain values. Others argued that acting is just a profession and shouldn’t be judged based on personal lifestyle choices.
Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is expected to be a grand movie. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi is Sita, and Yash will portray Ravana. The film also features stars like Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and Ravie Dubey. The first part of the film is set to release on Diwali 2026, and part two will come out in 2027.
