Sara Arjun, once India’s richest child actress, is now stepping into the spotlight as a lead heroine in Dhurandhar, an upcoming spy drama starring Ranveer Singh. The teaser of the film, released on Ranveer’s birthday (July 6, 2025), has already created a strong buzz online and much of that attention is going to Sara.
Sara Arjun Debuts in Dhurandhar Opposite Ranveer
Born in 2005, Sara Arjun is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun. Her acting journey began at just over one year old when she appeared in a commercial. She got her big break in the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal (2011), where she played Vikram’s daughter. Her performance received praise across the country. She later acted in several films like Ek Thi Daayan, Saivam, and Saand Ki Aankh.

Sara’s biggest commercial success came in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan (2022), where she played the young version of Aishwarya Rai’s character, Nandini. The film earned over ₹800 crore worldwide. Reports claim that after the film’s success, Sara became the highest-paid child actor in India, with an estimated net worth of ₹10 crore.
Now, she is making her adult debut in Dhurandhar, which is directed by Uri: The Surgical Strike filmmaker Aditya Dhar. Although the film’s story is filled with powerful male characters played by stars like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan, Sara is gaining attention for her elegant screen presence. In the teaser, she is seen dancing in a club, riding with Ranveer, and sharing a romantic dance.

According to reports, Dhurandhar may be inspired by real-life events involving National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, but the filmmakers have not confirmed this. The movie is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
