According to his publicist, Madsen died from a heart attack and was found unresponsive at his home in Malibu, California, on Thursday morning. He was declared dead at 8:25 a.m. No foul play is suspected.

He began his career in the early 1980s with TV shows and later moved to films. His first major break came in 1991 with Thelma & Louise, where he played a supporting role. A year later, he gained fame with Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, playing the violent character Mr. Blonde. This movie marked the beginning of his long partnership with Tarantino.
Throughout his career, Madsen acted in over 300 films. Some of his other well-known movies include Donnie Brasco, Die Another Day, and Sin City. He also played a key role in the Kill Bill series as Sidewinder, one of the main villains.

Apart from acting, Madsen faced personal struggles. He had been arrested multiple times and faced issues in his personal life, including problems in his marriage. In 2022, his son Hudson sadly died by suicide, which deeply affected him.
Even in his final years, Madsen was working on several projects. He had 18 upcoming films, including Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives. He was also writing a book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.
