Director Mohit Suri is all set to bring romance back to Bollywood with his upcoming movie Saiyaara. This romantic drama is his first collaboration with the popular production house Yash Raj Films (YRF). The movie stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles and is scheduled to release worldwide on July 18, 2025.
Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara Brings Romance Genre Back
Suri, known for hit romantic films like Aashiqui 2 and Hamari Adhuri Kahani, says Saiyaara is very close to his heart. He believes that romance as a film genre still has the power to touch hearts. He says, “Romance is waiting to deliver, and it should happen with Saiyaara.”
Saiyaara tells the story of intense love among young people. Suri explains that the film focuses on how deeply young people can feel and experience love. He wants to show that young hearts can love just as deeply as adults. “People think young people can’t handle deep emotions, but that’s not true,” he says.
The film marks the debut of Ahaan Panday as a hero from YRF, and Aneet Padda, known for Big Girls Don’t Cry, plays the female lead. Both actors bring freshness to the screen, and the songs and teaser have already created buzz among fans.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh is hopeful about the movie’s success. He feels Saiyaara could fill the current gap in Bollywood for youthful romantic films. “There has been a lack of romantic hits recently. Saiyaara may just be what the audience is waiting for,” he says.
YRF has a strong history of producing romantic classics, and combining that with Suri’s storytelling, Saiyaara promises to be a heart-touching movie. Suri adds, “Flawed people make the best love stories. That’s what makes Saiyaara special.”
