Veteran Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan has passed away at the age of 77. Her body was found in her apartment in Karachi almost a week after her death. The neighbours in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area became worried after noticing a foul smell coming from her flat. When authorities were called, they discovered her body in a state of decomposition.

Ayesha Khan had been living alone and was suffering from health problems. According to local media, she may have died several days before her body was found. Her mortal remains were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for examination and later sent to the Edhi Foundation mortuary.

Ayesha Khan was one of the most respected names in Pakistani television and cinema. She started her career in 1964 with PTV dramas and became famous for her strong performances in shows like Afshan, Aroosa, Mehndi, Bol Meri Machli, Ek Aur Aasman, and Dehleez. She also acted in popular historical dramas like Tipu Sultan: The Tiger Lord and Akhri Chattan. Her acting was known for its depth and emotion.
She also appeared in some Pakistani films, including Raju Ban Geya Gentleman Tahira, Muskaan Nafeesa Hashmi Khan, and Fatima. Apart from her acting work, Ayesha Khan was a mother of two—one daughter and one son.
Ayesha was born on November 22, 1948. She was the daughter of Riyasat-ullah Khan, who worked as a senior police officer in Karachi. Her sister Khalida Riyasat was also a well-known actress in Pakistan. Before entering the acting field, Ayesha worked at Radio Pakistan.
