Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has finally spoken about the ongoing controversy around Hera Pheri 3 and Paresh Rawal’s exit from the film. While promoting his upcoming movie Kannappa, Akshay said that everything happening regarding the film is visible to everyone, and he is hopeful that things will be sorted soon. He added that he is keeping his fingers crossed and believes everything will eventually turn out well.
Akshay Kumar Hopes Hera Pheri 3 Issues Resolve
The Hera Pheri series is one of the most loved comedy franchises in Bollywood. Fans have always appreciated the chemistry between Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. However, Paresh Rawal recently decided to step away from the third installment of the franchise. This came as a shock to fans, especially since his character Baburao is considered iconic.
Paresh Rawal explained in interviews that he was unhappy with how the second film, Phir Hera Pheri, changed its tone. He didn’t want to repeat the same mistake and had asked for a proper script before agreeing to Hera Pheri 3. Unfortunately, with no confirmed script and multiple producers involved, he chose to leave the project. After withdrawing, he also returned his signing amount along with interest.

This sudden move led to legal trouble, with Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Cinema, filing a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Paresh Rawal. They claimed that his exit disrupted the film’s timeline and planning.
Despite the controversy, Akshay remains positive. He has not confirmed any replacement or changes in the cast but seems confident that the situation will improve. Meanwhile, Akshay is set to appear in a special role as Lord Shiva in the upcoming Telugu mythological film Kannappa, which also stars Prabhas and Mohanlal. The film is expected to hit theatres on June 27, 2025.
