Aamir Khan’s comeback movie Sitaare Zameen Par is facing a delay in its release due to problems with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film was expected to release on June 20, 2025, but has not received its certification yet. According to reports, CBFC has asked for two cuts in the film. However, Aamir Khan and the film’s director R.S. Prasanna are not ready to make those changes.

They believe the scenes in question are meaningful and fit well with the story when viewed in full context. Aamir Khan feels the film should be released without any changes. As the CBFC has not given the certificate yet, the advance ticket booking for the film has also been delayed.

Aamir plans to meet the CBFC committee again to explain his point of view and hopes the issue will be resolved by June 16. Only after receiving the certificate can theatres start ticket sales. This situation has created stress for the team as the release date is very near.
The movie tells the story of 10 specially-abled children who are trained by a tough but caring football coach, played by Aamir Khan. It is an emotional and inspiring story. Interestingly, the British Censor Board has already cleared the movie with a 12A certificate, meaning children under 12 can watch it with an adult.

The film is a remake of the Spanish movie Champions and will also feature Genelia Deshmukh. Several young actors will make their debut in this film. Earlier, Aamir planned to release the film in around 1,000 to 1,500 screens. But after receiving a great response from theatre owners, the release has been expanded to 3,000 screens across India.
Aamir Khan has returned to the big screen after three years, and fans have been eagerly waiting for this movie. Now, everyone is hoping the CBFC issue is solved soon so the movie can hit theatres as planned.
