Sanjana Ganesan, the sports broadcaster and wife of famous cricketer Jasprit Bumrah, recently spoke out against online trolls who targeted her young son, Angad. The trolls were making fun of his facial expression during an IPL match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Sanjana Ganesan Defends Son Against Trolls
Angad, who was born in September 2023, was present at the game with his mother, Sanjana, to support his father, Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit played an important role in MI’s victory, taking four wickets and helping the team secure a 54-run win over LSG.
Sanjana, upset by the hurtful comments about her son, took to Instagram to express her frustration. She strongly condemned the people who made assumptions about her son based on a few seconds of video footage. “Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment,” she wrote, asking people to stop mocking him. She emphasized that both she and her husband do their best to keep their son away from the negativity of social media.

The post also addressed the use of harmful words like “depression” and “trauma” when referring to Angad, who is only 1.5 years old. Sanjana highlighted how sad it is that some people are using such serious terms without knowing anything about her child or their family life. She reminded everyone that her son is just a toddler and that the online community needs to be more mindful of how they speak about others, especially children.
Sanjana made it clear that the purpose of bringing Angad to the stadium was simply to support his father and that they did not expect to be the subject of online mockery. She added that she fully understands the risks of exposing a child to social media but still chose to take him to the game for a family outing.
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan, married in 2021, have become a beloved couple among cricket fans due to their strong bond and humble personalities. Their son, Angad, is already a part of their fan following, and it’s clear that they both care deeply about protecting their child’s privacy and well-being.
