Television Actor Lalit Manchanda Dies By Suicide at 36, Industry Mourns His Sudden Tragic Loss

Lalit Manchanda, a television actor best known for his role in the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has sadly passed away at the age of 36. He was found dead at his residence in Meerut on April 21, 2025. The news has shocked the television industry and his fans.

Television Actor Lalit Manchanda Passes Away At 36

The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) confirmed his death through a post on Instagram. They expressed their condolences and mentioned that Lalit Manchanda had been a member of the association since 2012.

According to reports from Amar Ujala, Lalit was going through financial problems in Mumbai. Due to his struggles, he had moved back to his hometown Meerut about six months ago to stay with his family. His death is suspected to be by suicide, though the full details are still not clear.

Lalit Manchanda had worked in several television shows during his career. Apart from his appearance in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, he was also seen in DD National’s Sevanchal Ki Premkatha, where he played the role of a father. He had acted in crime-based shows like India’s Most Wanted, Crime Patrol, and also in the popular daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
