South Indian superstar Suriya is making headlines once again, not just for his new movie but also for his sweet words for his wife, Jyotika. At the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Retro, Suriya stole everyone’s hearts with a touching speech.
Suriya Calls Jyotika ‘Kannadi Poo’ Lovingly
The event was held before the film’s official release, where the team of Retro, including director Karthik Subbaraj and actress Pooja Hegde, came together to share their experiences about working on the movie. But what caught everyone’s attention the most was the emotional way Suriya spoke about his wife.
He called Jyotika his “Kannadi Poo,” which means “mirror flower” in Tamil. This is not just a random nickname—it’s actually a phrase used in one of the film’s songs. By using this term, Suriya showed both love and respect for Jyotika, who has been his strong support through every phase of his life and career. He said he is happy and successful today because of her support and the love of his fans.

Apart from Retro, Suriya is also working on another movie titled Suriya 45, which is being directed by RJ Balaji. Meanwhile, Jyotika is continuing to make her mark as well. She was recently seen in a web series called Dabba Cartel and had an important role in the 2024 thriller Shaitan, alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.
