Conclave Cast: The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2025 was a night full of excitement and celebrations. The biggest highlight of the event was the win of Conclave for Best Ensemble. As the cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Isabella Rossellini, and John Lithgow, walked backstage, they were greeted with applause from the event staff and crew. Ralph Fiennes soon ran into Ariana Grande, whose movie Wicked had also been nominated for Best Ensemble. Grande cheered for Conclave Cast, telling Fiennes that she had been rooting for them. She then introduced her date, Ethan Slater, who is best known for his role in Broadway’s Spongebob SquarePants.
As the actors moved to the area where the real SAG statuettes were handed out, they met Hollywood legend Jane Fonda. Fiennes complimented her on her powerful speech during the ceremony. Rossellini also rejoined and introduced Fonda to Sergio Castellitto, another Conclave Cast member. Castellitto jokingly referred to himself as “the villain” of the film.
Another exciting moment came when Timothée Chalamet, who won Best Male Actor for A Complete Unknown, arrived to collect his award. Fiennes and Chalamet greeted each other warmly, showing their admiration for each other’s work. The wins for Conclave Cast and Chalamet added an unexpected twist to the Oscar predictions, as many had expected Anora to be the frontrunner.
Lithgow, a seasoned actor, proudly showed his third SAG Award to photographers. As the winners waited for their press photos, they playfully lifted their heavy awards. Fiennes even did some arm exercises with his trophy, while Lithgow raised his high in the air.
The night ended with the winners attending the official after-party, where they had their awards engraved. Lithgow also took a moment to pose with firefighters who had battled the recent Los Angeles wildfires. The brave responders had been special guests at the event and received a standing ovation from the audience.
