The Super Bowl LIX halftime show will feature a performance by rap superstar Kendrick Lamar. Fans are excited to see him take the stage as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles compete for the championship. The event will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Halftime
Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner in September. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation shared a video of him preparing for the big performance. This will not be his first Super Bowl appearance. He was part of the 2022 halftime show alongside Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
Lamar will not be performing alone. He will be joined by special guest SZA. The two artists have collaborated before on songs like All the Stars and Doves in the Wind. They are also set to begin a 19-city North American tour in April.
Before the game begins, several artists will perform during the pregame show. Jon Batiste will sing the national anthem. Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will perform America the Beautiful. Ledisi will sing Lift Every Voice and Sing. All three performers are from Louisiana, making their performances special for the New Orleans crowd.
In addition, American Sign Language (ASL) performers will make the event more inclusive. Stephanie Nogueras will sign the national anthem and America the Beautiful. Otis Jones IV will sign Lift Every Voice and Sing, while Matt Maxey will interpret the halftime show in ASL.
