Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently spoke about his role in Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar. The film, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, has already created excitement among movie lovers. After some viewers started linking Bedi’s character to a real-life Pakistani politician, the actor decided to clear the confusion.
Rakesh Bedi said that his character in the film is not based on any real person. He explained that the resemblance people are noticing is only because of the styling and look created for the role.
Actor Denies Copying Any Real-Life Personality
While talking about the speculation, Rakesh Bedi said he did not portray any specific politician. He added that he simply followed the look and appearance designed for the character in the film.
The actor mentioned that if someone feels the character resembles them, it is only their personal interpretation. He explained that his job was to perform the role given to him and bring the character to life on screen.
Bedi also said that the wig and styling used in the film may have created a slight resemblance, which might be why some people connected it with a real person.
Long Association With Director Aditya Dhar
Rakesh Bedi also shared how he became part of Dhurandhar. The actor had earlier worked with director Aditya Dhar in the 2019 film Uri: The Surgical Strike. In that movie, he played a small role where his character secretly helped India by passing information.
The scene was filmed quickly and completed in just a couple of hours. After finishing the shoot, Aditya Dhar told Bedi that he would work with him again in the future.

The veteran actor said that such promises are common in the film industry, but this time the director kept his word. Nearly a year later, Dhar contacted him again and offered him a strong role in Dhurandhar.
