Badshah Apologises Over ‘Tateeree’ Song Controversy As Haryana Police Issue Look Out Circular

Badshah Apologises Over ‘Tateeree’ Song

Popular rapper Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, is facing legal trouble after the release of his Haryanvi music video “Tateeree.” The song has created controversy because some people believe its lyrics and visuals contain objectionable content.

Following complaints, Haryana Police registered a case against the rapper. Authorities have also begun the process of issuing a look out circular, a step taken to ensure that the accused person does not leave the country while the investigation is ongoing. The matter has drawn attention because Badshah is one of the most well-known music artists in India, with several hit songs in Bollywood and independent music.

Badshah Shares Public Apology On Instagram

After the controversy grew, Badshah posted a video message on Instagram to address the situation and apologise to people who felt hurt by the song. In the video, the rapper said that he noticed many people from Haryana were upset with certain lyrics and visual elements of the music video. He clarified that hurting anyone’s feelings was never his intention.

Badshah explained that he has a strong personal connection with the state. He said he is proud of his Haryanvi roots and that his identity, language, food and lifestyle are deeply connected to Haryana. He also said that hip-hop music often includes competitive lyrics that challenge rivals, but those lines are not meant to target women or children.

The rapper added that he has always tried to promote Haryanvi language and culture through his music and wanted to take it to a wider audience.

Haryana Police Issue Notice And Start Investigation

The controversy has also led to official action from the Panchkula police. Authorities have issued a notice asking Badshah to appear before them for questioning.

Police teams have been formed to locate the rapper and ensure he cooperates with the investigation. Officials have also started the process to issue a look out circular, which prevents an accused person from travelling abroad. The case was registered after a complaint claimed that the music video contained objectionable lyrics and visuals.

Legal Sections Applied In The Case

The police have filed the case under several legal provisions related to obscene content and indecent representation of women. These include Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

Another charge has been added under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with obscene acts or songs. Authorities have also sent notices requesting the removal of the music video from social media platforms while the investigation continues.

Women’s Commission Also Takes Action

The Haryana State Commission for Women has also taken notice of the issue. The commission has issued a summons to Badshah, asking him to respond to the allegations related to the song. This step shows that the controversy has moved beyond public debate and has now become a legal matter involving multiple authorities.

For now, the rapper’s team has not shared further details about his next steps. The investigation by Haryana Police will continue as authorities review the complaints and the content of the music video.
