Former Miss India World 2022, Sini Shetty, is set to make her acting debut in the Bollywood film Dostana 2. She has replaced Pratibha Ranta as the leading lady, marking a significant change in the movie’s casting. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and has been in the spotlight for multiple casting updates over the years.
Sini Shetty, who represented India at Miss World 2023, brings a fresh face to the franchise. Born in Mumbai with roots in Karnataka, she is not only a beauty pageant winner but also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, having completed her Arangetram at the age of 14.
The Film’s Casting Changes
Dostana 2 has seen several casting reshuffles since it first went on floors. Initially, the film featured Lakshya, Kartik Aaryan, and Janhvi Kapoor. Creative differences led to the project being paused. Later, Vikrant Massey joined the cast, replacing Kartik Aaryan, and Lakshya retained his role.
The addition of Sini Shetty completes the current lead pair for the film. The makers considered multiple actresses before finalising Shetty for the role. With her joining, the film now combines experienced actors like Vikrant Massey and fresh talent like Sini Shetty.

Vikrant Massey’s New Avatar
Vikrant Massey, who is playing the male lead, shared that audiences will see him in a completely new look. He mentioned stylish designer clothes and accessories, as the film will include glamorous European locations for some of its scenes. Massey declined to reveal details about the film’s romantic angle but confirmed that he is excited about his first collaboration with Dharma Productions.
