Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor’s film Tu Yaa Main has taken a slow start at the box office. The horror survival thriller collected around Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh on its first day in India. For a new pairing and a niche genre, the opening numbers are on the lower side.
The film was released alongside Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo, which has a wider reach and stronger buzz. Due to this clash, Tu Yaa Main received fewer screens and limited shows in many theatres.
Valentine’s Day Could Help The Film
The makers are now looking at Valentine’s Day for a possible jump in collections. Even though it is not a public holiday, the day is considered favourable for romantic and youth-focused films. Since Tu Yaa Main targets Gen Z and young urban audiences, the weekend numbers may improve.
If the film shows growth on Saturday and Sunday, it could end its opening weekend in the range of Rs 2 to Rs 3 crore. The next two days will be crucial for its overall run.

Survival Thriller With A Unique Plot
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Tu Yaa Main tells the story of a modern young couple who find themselves stuck in a life-threatening situation involving a deadly crocodile. The survival drama unfolds as they struggle to escape danger while dealing with their personal conflicts.
The concept is different from regular romantic dramas and tries to mix love and fear in one storyline. However, mixed initial reactions may affect its momentum at the box office.
