The casting drama around Drishyam 3 has finally received some clarity. After weeks of confusion about who would step in following Akshaye Khanna’s exit, actor Prakash Raj has confirmed that he has started shooting for the film. At the same time, he made it clear that he is not replacing anyone.
Prakash Raj shared that he has begun work on the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 and described his role as exciting. He also clearly stated that he is “not replacing anyone,” putting an end to rumours that he had taken over Akshaye Khanna’s character.
Akshaye Khanna’s Exit From Drishyam 3
Excitement around Drishyam 3 was high when news first broke about Akshaye Khanna being part of the film. However, things changed when he decided to step away from the project.
There were talks about creative differences and discussions over his role and remuneration. It was also said that there were disagreements about the look of his character, including the idea of wearing a wig. While many reasons were discussed, the final outcome was that Akshaye Khanna exited the film before shooting began.
Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak later shared that the team had multiple discussions with the actor. He mentioned that communication eventually stopped, which made it difficult to move forward together. The team then had to rethink their casting plans.
Jaideep Ahlawat Rumours Also Denied
After Akshaye Khanna’s exit, there were strong rumours that Jaideep Ahlawat had stepped in. However, director Abhishek Pathak clarified that Jaideep was not replacing anyone. He explained that a new character was being written instead.
