Fans of the Malayalam superhero universe have a reason to celebrate as Lokah Chapter 2 is officially set to begin shooting from December 2026. The film, starring Tovino Thomas, is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which was released in theaters on August 28, 2025.
Director Dominic Arun Shares Update
In a recent appearance outside a screening of the Indrans starrer Aashaan, director Dominic Arun shared details about the upcoming sequel. While talking about the film’s progress, he revealed that initial works for Lokah Chapter 2 are still ongoing. He further confirmed that the principal shooting will kick off in December 2026.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra featured Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in the lead roles. The story revolves around Chandra, a mysterious woman summoned from Sweden to Karnataka by Moothon (The Elder), the leader of a secret organization.
Chandra lives a quiet life in Bengaluru, working night shifts at a café while keeping a low profile. Her neighbor, Sunny, a medical college dropout, develops feelings for her despite her distant nature. The story takes a dark turn when Chandra gets caught in the plans of an organ-trafficking gang. This is when her true identity as the mythical being Kalliyankattu Neeli is revealed.
The film blends action, fantasy, and folklore, showing how Chandra and her companions fight threats from both human and mythical forces.
