The discussion around the high entourage and working costs of Bollywood stars has once again come into focus, this time because of Ranveer Singh. After Dhurandhar completed a successful theatrical run and arrived on Netflix, viewers noticed something interesting in the film’s end credits. What followed was a fresh round of debate around the actor’s reported demand for multiple vanity vans on set.
What viewers spotted in the end credits
The renewed chatter began when a screenshot of Dhurandhar’s credit sequence started circulating online. The credits mentioned three separate vanity vans listed under the name “Hamza,” the character played by Ranveer Singh. These included a “Hamza van,” a “Hamza staff van,” and a “Hamza normal van.”
In the same credits, co-actors R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal were shown to have just one vanity van each. This contrast quickly drew attention, with many assuming that “Hamza” clearly referred to Ranveer Singh, even though his real name was not directly mentioned in that section.
Old claims come back into the spotlight
This credit detail brought back last year’s claims about Ranveer Singh using three vanity vans during shoots. At that time, it was said that one van was meant for personal use, another functioned as a gym, and the third was used by his support team, including a private chef.
It was also claimed earlier that the maintenance cost of one vanity could range between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. Though these figures were never officially confirmed by the actor or his team, the Dhurandhar credits made people revisit those discussions.
Mixed opinions within the industry audience
The discovery led to varied opinions. Some questioned why character names were used for Ranveer Singh while real names were mentioned for other actors in the credits. Others joked about the number of vans, while a few pointed out that working conditions are part of professional agreements and that producers always have the option to accept or reject such demands.
There were also voices defending the actor, stating that Ranveer Singh delivers strong box office results and high-energy performances, which producers consider while finalising contracts and facilities.
No official response from Ranveer Singh
So far, Ranveer Singh has not responded to the renewed discussion around his vanity vans. The actor has generally stayed away from commenting on personal working arrangements or cost-related speculation. His silence has kept the focus on the film itself rather than turning the debate into a direct controversy.
Focus shifts to Dhurandhar 2
Amid all this talk, Ranveer Singh is currently gearing up for Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled for release in March 2026. The teaser of the sequel was recently unveiled, bringing back Ranveer as Hamza. The upcoming film is expected to explore the character in greater depth and scale.
With Dhurandhar performing well theatrically and finding a new audience on OTT, the franchise seems to be growing stronger. For now, while discussions around vanity vans continue, Ranveer Singh remains focused on his next big-screen appearance, letting his work take centre stage once again.
