Colman Domingo Reveals Euphoria Cast Didn’t Get Full Scripts to Maintain Secrecy for Season 3

Colman Domingo Says Euphoria Cast Didn’t Get Full Scripts

Colman Domingo has shared new details about the highly awaited third season of HBO’s hit show Euphoria. With the new season just a few months away, fans are eager to learn what will happen next. However, according to Domingo, even the actors were kept in the dark. The show’s creator, Sam Levinson, chose to keep the storyline extremely secret, not only from the public but also from the cast members themselves.

Colman Domingo Says Euphoria Cast Didn’t Get Full Scripts

In an interview with Variety at the Golden Globe Awards in January 2026, Domingo revealed that the cast did not receive full scripts for the upcoming season. Instead, each actor was only given the script pages for their own character. Domingo said he only knew what was happening in the scenes he personally filmed. He explained that this approach helped actors stay focused and emotionally connected to their individual journeys on the show.

Domingo described the experience as both unusual and exciting. He said the actors were working in their “own insular world,” meaning they were fully immersed in their characters without knowing the bigger picture. Domingo also shared that he will soon do ADR work, where dialogue is re-recorded, and that will allow him to see more parts of the season. He praised Sam Levinson’s vision, saying the show feels more like cinema than regular television.

In Euphoria, Colman Domingo plays Ali, a recovering drug addict who becomes a mentor and sponsor to Rue, played by Zendaya. Their relationship has been complicated, with moments of conflict as well as care. At the end of Season 2, Rue claimed she stayed sober for the rest of the school year. However, Levinson later revealed that Rue still owes money to Laurie, a dangerous drug dealer, setting up serious tension for Season 3.

The third season of Euphoria will take place five years after the events of Season 2. Popular cast members like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, and Hunter Schafer are all returning. Season 3 is set to premiere in April on HBO, and with so much secrecy surrounding the story, fans are more curious than ever about what lies ahead.
