Eric Tsang, a well-known Hong Kong actor and television personality, has announced his departure as the General Manager of TVB. He made this announcement during the 2026 TVB Anniversary Awards. At the event, TVB honoured him with a special award called the “Glorious Legend of a Thousand Stars.” His long-time friend, singer Alan Tam, presented the trophy to him.
Eric Tsang Leaves TVB General Manager Role Announced
Tsang returned to TVB on January 21, 2021, and officially resumed his duties on February 9 of the same year. Initially, he worked as Deputy General Manager, where he was responsible for variety shows, music production, and programming. He also acted as a Special Adviser to the Executive Committee. During this time, one of his key achievements was helping to resolve issues between Star Dream Entertainment and the Hong Kong Recording Industry Alliance (HKRIA).
In September 2021, Eric Tsang was promoted to General Manager of Content Operations. In this role, he oversaw the core content of TVB, including co-produced dramas, variety programs, and music shows. He was also responsible for content acquisitions and strategic planning. Under his leadership, TVB continued to produce popular programs that attracted viewers across Hong Kong and beyond.
Throughout his five years at TVB, Tsang was praised for his dedication and experience in the entertainment industry. Many colleagues and fans appreciated his efforts to improve TVB’s programming and maintain its strong presence in Hong Kong television. His leadership was also noted for supporting both new talent and established artists in the industry.
