Jodi Hildebrandt, a former counselor and therapist from Utah, is now serving time in prison for aggravated child abuse. She became widely known for working with Ruby Franke, a former family YouTuber, on strict parenting and relationship advice. The two women ran a popular social media page called “Moms of Truth,” where they promoted strict discipline for children. Their practices eventually led to serious criminal charges after Ruby’s youngest son escaped and reported the abuse in 2023.
Where Is Jodi Hildebrandt Now After Arrest?
Jodi Hildebrandt started her career as a counselor and therapist, focusing on relationships and parenting, often using teachings from the Church of the Latter-day Saints. Her connection with Ruby Franke began in 2019 when the Franke family sought Hildebrandt’s counseling services. Ruby, along with her then-husband Kevin and six children, had gained fame through their YouTube channel, 8 Passengers. Over time, Ruby and Hildebrandt formed a close relationship, and Hildebrandt eventually moved into the Franke household. By 2023, Ruby and Hildebrandt were living with the children in Ivins, Utah, where they enforced harsh punishments that included physical labor, food deprivation, and emotional abuse.
The abuse came to light after Ruby’s 12-year-old son escaped and sought help from a neighbor. Police investigations revealed that Hildebrandt and Ruby subjected the children to extreme punishment and controlled their daily lives. Both women were charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse and later pleaded guilty to four counts. In February 2024, Hildebrandt and Ruby were sentenced to four consecutive prison terms, serving a maximum of 30 years due to Utah state law.
