Ling Chao’s agency responded to the incident, clarifying that it took place at a high-speed rail station, not an airport. They said that he only grabbed the phone, which damaged the screen, and that no physical violence occurred. The agency also explained that the fan involved was a long-term stalker, known as a “sisheng.” Both Ling Chao and the fan agreed on compensation for the damaged phone.
This is not the first time Ling Chao has had problems with stalker fans. At a previous fan signing event, he asked a stalker to leave, and two years ago, during a concert, he publicly warned fans to respect his personal space. The fan involved in the current incident reportedly responded on social media, calling it “free sparring with Ling Chao,” and seemed proud of the encounter.
