Hollywood filmmaker and producer Tyler Perry has been sued again over serious sexual assault allegations. An actor named Mario Rodriguez, who appeared in the movie Boo! A Madea Halloween, filed the lawsuit in California on December 27, 2025. Rodriguez claims that Perry made unwanted sexual advances toward him on several occasions over a number of years. Perry has strongly denied all the allegations through his lawyer.

According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez says he first came into contact with Perry in 2014 after a gym trainer shared his phone number with the filmmaker. Perry reportedly contacted him about auditioning for a role in Boo! A Madea Halloween. After Rodriguez got the part, he says Perry invited him to his Los Angeles home, where the alleged inappropriate behavior began. Rodriguez claims Perry touched him without consent and made suggestive comments.

The lawsuit further states that similar incidents happened again in 2016, 2018, and 2019. Rodriguez alleges that Perry continued to approach him with promises of acting roles and career support. During these meetings, he claims Perry made physical advances that made him uncomfortable. The lawsuit says that after some of these encounters, Perry apologized and gave Rodriguez money, which Rodriguez viewed as an attempt to silence him.
Rodriguez is asking for at least $77 million in damages. He has also named Lionsgate, the company that distributed Boo! A Madea Halloween, claiming it ignored Perry’s alleged behavior. Lionsgate has not publicly commented on the case. This lawsuit follows another legal case filed earlier in 2025 by actor Derek Dixon, who also accused Perry of sexual assault. Dixon’s case has since moved to federal court.

Tyler Perry’s lawyer has denied all claims and called the lawsuit an attempt to gain money. Perry has not spoken directly about the case, but his legal team says the accusations are false. Rodriguez says he decided to come forward after learning about the earlier lawsuit, hoping his action would help stop similar behavior in the future. The case is still ongoing, and no court decision has been made yet.
