F4’s Ken Chu apologises after remarks about Mayday’s Ashin spark controversy during reunion tour

Former F4 member Ken Chu has publicly apologised after making sharp comments about Mayday’s lead singer Ashin during the recent F4 reunion tour. The issue gained attention because Ken was not part of the tour, while the other three F4 members Vic Chou, Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu reunited on stage. Fans were hopeful for a full reunion, so the situation quickly became a topic of discussion online.

The F4 reunion tour began on December 19, with popular artists Ashin and Jay Chou appearing as special guests. On the final day of Ashin’s appearance, December 22, he told fans that Ken was unable to join “temporarily” and that he would try his best to make a complete reunion happen in the future. This statement raised expectations among fans, but it also led to misunderstandings behind the scenes.

Ken later responded in a fan group, saying that although Ashin had spoken about him several times, he had not received any official information. He described Ashin’s words as “polite talk” and suggested fans should not read too much into it. These comments were seen by many as disrespectful, especially because Ashin is a shareholder in B’in Music, the company managing F4’s tour. Ken has had disagreements with the company, which added to the tension.

On Christmas Day, December 25, Ken issued a public apology. He explained that he had been facing severe online bullying since September, which caused emotional and mental stress. According to reports, Ken said the constant negative messages affected his work and disturbed his family life. Because of this pressure, he admitted that he lost control of his emotions and made inappropriate remarks, for which he sincerely apologised.

Earlier in December, Ken also clarified why he was absent from the tour. He said he only found out about his exclusion through online news and had rejected certain demands from B’in Music, after which communication stopped. Although disappointed, Ken wished the tour success and expressed hope for a future reunion. His apology shows a desire to calm tensions and move forward with more care and understanding.
