Legendary singer Barry Manilow, best known for timeless hits like “Mandy”, has recently shared some personal health news with his fans. The 82-year-old revealed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The announcement came through an Instagram post, where Manilow explained that the illness was discovered early and that doctors are confident about his recovery. Because of the diagnosis, he will temporarily postpone his upcoming concert dates to focus on treatment and rest.

Barry Manilow Recovering After Lung Cancer Diagnosis
Barry Manilow explained that the cancer was found after he suffered from bronchitis for several weeks. Even after feeling better and returning to the stage, his doctor suggested an MRI scan just to be safe. During the scan, doctors noticed a small cancerous spot on his left lung. Thankfully, medical experts believe the cancer has not spread to other parts of his body. Manilow shared that the spot will be removed through surgery and that he will not need chemotherapy or radiation.

The singer reassured fans that he is staying positive and calm during this time. He joked that his recovery plan includes chicken soup and watching “I Love Lucy” reruns. He also thanked his doctors for detecting the problem early, calling it a matter of luck and good medical care. Manilow added that his postponed January concerts will be rescheduled once he has fully recovered.
During his recovery, Barry Manilow will stay at his spacious Palm Springs home, which he purchased in 1978. The property is nearly 10,000 square feet and includes eight bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, and stunning views of the Coachella Valley. Surrounded by palm trees,
