In an interview with Rolling Stone, Daughtry made it clear that the photos were completely fake and did not represent his beliefs. He explained that several musicians, including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, were also falsely linked to similar AI images.

He shared that such misinformation hurts him on a personal level because it can mislead fans and damage his reputation.

The singer also talked about how he has changed over the years. He said his beliefs and worldview have evolved during his career. Daughtry now strongly supports equal rights for everyone, including LGBTQ communities and minority groups. He explained that he no longer follows the strict religious beliefs he grew up with and tries to be more open and accepting of all people. This is why being falsely linked to groups he disagrees with felt especially upsetting.
Daughtry also addressed other AI-created rumors, including false claims that his marriage was in trouble. In an Instagram video, he expressed concern about the growing number of fake accounts, edited images, and misleading headlines. He warned fans that the internet is becoming increasingly filled with false information created by AI tools. He asked people to trust only the posts shared on his verified social media accounts or on official pages of his band.

To help prevent confusion, Daughtry encouraged fans to double-check information before believing or sharing it. He stressed that if a story about him does not come from a verified or trustworthy source, it is likely fake.
