Monica Lewinsky, who produced the show, shared that she was nervous about how Tripp would be portrayed. She admitted to having a small fear that viewers might end up sympathizing with Tripp because of Paulson’s strong performance. Paulson reassured Lewinsky that the show would handle Tripp’s character carefully and would not overly justify her actions.
