Aanand L Rai revealed that the film was born out of emotions that remained with him and Dhanush even after Raanjhanaa. “After our last film, there were feelings we never really let go of. We kept thinking about what happens to love when innocence fades and time changes people,” he said. Tere Ishk Mein is an attempt to explore those questions and to bring out a more mature and intense story about love and pain.
The movie’s teaser promises a deeply emotional tale of love, heartbreak, and rediscovery. According to Rai, this film is not just another love story but a reflection of where he and his characters are today older, wiser, and still searching for meaning in love. The shooting of Tere Ishk Mein wrapped up in July, and the team celebrated with a wrap-up party. In January, the teaser was released, showing Kriti Sanon in a mysterious and intense role. Aanand L Rai shared that while the film belongs to the same emotional world as Raanjhanaa, it is not a sequel. Instead, it expands that universe and deepens its themes through a new narrative and perspective.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Himanshu Sharma, and Aanand L Rai himself, Tere Ishk Mein is a musical journey composed by A.R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The movie is set to release worldwide on November 28, 2025, in both Hindi and Tamil languages.
