Popular cosmetics brand Huda Beauty has officially ended its partnership with “Love Island USA” Season 7 contestant Huda Mustafa following a racism-related controversy. The brand released a public statement on October 31, saying that one of their recent collaborators had shown behavior that did not align with the company’s values. Huda Beauty expressed disappointment over the situation and confirmed that all content related to Mustafa would be removed from their platforms and stores.
Huda Beauty Drops Huda Mustafa After Controversy
The controversy began after a livestream video featuring Huda Mustafa and her boyfriend Louis Russell, known for appearing in Netflix’s “Too Hot to Handle” and “Perfect Match,” went viral on social media. During the livestream, a caller used a racial slur against Huda’s Love Island co-star Olandria Carthen. The couple appeared shocked but were seen laughing before ending the call. Many viewers criticized Mustafa and Russell for not reacting more seriously to the racist remark.
In its statement, Huda Beauty said, “We are truly disappointed by Huda Mustafa’s recent life and take all forms of racism very seriously.” The company added that accountability was important and that they hoped this incident would lead to meaningful awareness and change. This quick response from the brand received mixed reactions online, with many users appreciating the company for taking a stand against racism.

After initially downplaying the situation, Huda Mustafa later apologized publicly to Olandria Carthen. She admitted her reaction during the livestream was inappropriate and explained that her laughter came from discomfort, not amusement. The incident has sparked discussions online about accountability, social media behavior, and the responsibility of influencers to set better examples.
